Petty Officer Luke Phillips will be running a marathon up and down Snowdonia as part of the Rat Race Advenutre Sports. Luke, who lives in Warmisnter is in the Royal Navy and he has raised funds for the Centre in the past. If you get a chance have a look at the Man vs Mountain web page as it looks incredible and he is doing it all for our Centre. He has also written some lovely words about the Centre on his justgiving page if you wanted to support him –
Importance Notice to regular users of the Centre.
We want to encourage our members to set up a standing order to pay donations through our bank rather than through our reception desk. This will save the Centre a significant amount in bank charges. There are standing order forms on reception and if you need any help with this please speak to Sarah Williamson. Many other Centre’s ask for donations by standing order only and they have found that members find this much more convenient. We would really appreciate your cooperation.
– an exclusive hairdressing salon in Bath have donated a cut and blow dry with a stylist/senior stylist which is worth a small fortune! We are running another silent auction for the month of August to offer this voucher, please e-mail if you would like to make a bid, (or drop her a line and post it!) all bids (however small) accepted. And many congratulations to the winner of the balloon flight – photos will follow…
Kinesiology – Caroline Metz will be returning to the centre from 7th September
offering regular kinesiology and reiki appointments every Thursday from 2.30pm – 6pm. These therapies can help to increase energy, improve mobility, boost mood, reduce pain, ease digestive disorders, identify food intolerances and nutritional deficiencies, and lots more! For members, carers, staff and volunteers, the considerably reduced cost is £20 for a session. Contact Caroline directly to book 07515 739681.
Bowen – A regular new therapy in the Centre.
The Bowen Technique is a holistic, non-invasive ‘hands on – hands off’ therapy. Offering relief from pain and symptoms for many health problems including multiple sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, back pain etc. Using the bodies innate healing mechanisms, Bowen is designed to stimulate the tissue and nerve pathways creating focus for the brain. Tina will be working in the Centre on a Monday and Friday morning and will only charge £15 for a full session. To book an appointment call Tina on 01985 301074
Charity shop – Volunteers wanted!
The new charity shop is doing really, really well and the upgrade of the old charity shop is in full swing. As we have been offered an extension on the lease in the new shop we may be fortunate enough to run two charity shops at the same time. This is an amazing fundraising opportunity and we remain exceedingly grateful to both landlords, who have been exceptionally kind to our Centre.
We now need new volunteers to work in the shops and if you would like to volunteer or you know somebody who would be up for a new challenge please contact Carol Coates on or call 01985 217728.
The shop still needs to replenish stock, especially as it is selling so quickly, so do keep bringing clothes, small pieces of furniture, bric a bric and there is a drop off point at the back of the new shop that you can drive right up to and park easily.
If you want to join in any of the sessions, please put your name on the list on the notice board opposite Rosie’s office. We run classes monthly; Tai Chi, Mindful Mediation, (both £5 donation) Gong Therapy (£10 cash to be paid to the therapist).
